Arrested and taken to the priests and authorities, St Issa is questioned and responds eloquently, forcefully and with conviction.
Apparently the result, though not entirely well received, convinced his captors to have a discussion about his fate—and ultimately decide what to do with Issa.

This is the first color sketch for this scene. I thought the foreground figures too blue and serene for the mood that was wanted.
